The Iranian Journal of Nuclear Medicine (Iran J Nucl Med) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the advancement of nuclear medicine and its related disciplines. In alignment with its mission to support the global scientific community, the journal does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, processing, or publication, thereby providing a cost-free platform for researchers worldwide.

Established in 1993 by the Research Center for Nuclear Medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the journal is published in collaboration with the Iranian Society of Nuclear Medicine. Since its inception, Iran J Nucl Med has served as a reputable forum for the dissemination of high-quality research in both basic and clinical nuclear medicine sciences.

The journal covers a broad spectrum of topics, including but not limited to molecular imaging, functional and metabolic assessment of diseases, radionuclide therapy, radiopharmacy, radiochemistry, radiobiology, dosimetry, nuclear medicine instrumentation, and computational applications in nuclear medicine. It welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, narrative reviews, mini-reviews, short communications, editorials, case reports, and letters to the editor—particularly those addressing emerging global trends, regional advancements, and critical issues in the field.

Initially published in Persian (1993–1994), the journal adopted a bilingual format (Persian and English) from 1994 to 2007, and has been published exclusively in English since early 2008. Iran J Nucl Med maintains an international editorial board and accepts submissions from researchers around the world, aiming to foster scientific exchange and professional education among physicians, technologists, and specialists involved in nuclear medicine.

Iran J Nucl Med is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
